ThinkEco: Vampire Slayer.

If there is one thing I dislike, it’s vampires. All varieties. From the pale-as-snow Dracula to the shimmering Edward Cullen. They are nausea inducing, mopey, emo loners of the monster world. Then, there is vampire power, and it’s probably in your home right now. Vampire power is when the electric appliances in your home drain energy, even when they’re not on. This is wasteful, costing you money on your energy bill, and costing the world resources.

Not. A. Fan.

The ThinkEco modlet (which stands for modern electric outlet) is simple to use. You plug the device into your normal wall outlet, and then you plug your appliances into the device. It cuts power to your appliances when they are not in use, to save power. Also, you can even keep track of your energy usage, wirelessly, from your computer browser.

image

The ThinkEco modlet is a good way to save energy – you’re not wasting energy from your appliances, and you’re not spending your own energy carefully watching each joule you use!

If you want to pick up a module, head over to the ThinkEco pre-order store!

CES Goes Green: nPower PEG

This year, at the Consumer Electronics Show, many interesting technologies and devices were displayed. In more recent years, we have seen a rise in green technology in the products that we use from day to day. The nPower PEG just a sample of one of the products that was shown this year!

image

This device is a very helpful one, especially for those on the go. I am sure that anyone who uses a cellphone these days is terror stricken at the idea that their battery could run out. No more texting, tweeting, gaming and internet surfing! It's a wonder anyone survived before! Luckily, with the nPower PEG, this fate shall never have to befall you. The PEG is a portable battery charger that works with kinetic energy. The valuable time you spend walking to, fro, up and down, forwards, and backwards, is now time that can be spent charging the device so you can prolong the battery life of your favorite electronics!

This has been just one sample of the new gadgets coming up in the new year!
