Free PC Gaming

OnTheHub is all about saving money as a student. We’ve got you covered when it comes to educational software – but what about when you’re taking some valuable time away from hitting the books and just want to relax and play a game on a rainy afternoon?

Sadly, this isn’t always as simple or cheap as it sounds. While playing the newest games on a PC can be amazing to see and play (Google “Crysis”), it is far from cheap!

If you ever want to pay off that student loan, or just want to play for less, check these options out instead!

StarCraft II Starter Edition

Blizzards wildly popular sequel to the classic sci-fi adventure now has a free version!
This include, among other things, the 5 first missions in Campaign, 2 challenges, and four multiplayer levels.
Players who want to test the waters before deciding whether or not they want to purchase the full game can head over to the StarCraft II website to download their free copy!

Age of Empires Online
If you’re like me, Age of Empires 2 was THE game to play back in the day. The latest Age of Empires is free to play! The game is more social, allowing you and your friends to build an empire together!
Check it out here

The Lord of the Rings Online

Middle Earth makes a great vacation spot, and the only thing that makes visiting it even more sweet is that it is free! This MMO is a good, free alternative to World of Warcraft! Remember: One does not simply walk into Mordor! Just try it

Battlefield Heroes

If you are looking for quicker action, give this one a shot! The animated graphics are great, and the multi-player elements are on par with many paid games! Fire away!

For other quality games that won’t cost you a dime, visit the free-to-play section of Steam, or EAs Play 4 Free site.

What's your favorite game to play? Do you mind paying? Tell us about it in the comment section below!
