Since the dawn of time, flame wars have ravaged the picturesque - but often hostile - landscape of the Internet. Many have tears have been shed, many friendships destroyed. What for? The title of Supreme Operating System.
An emerging argument is that it mattereth not what OS you are packing, but how you use your browser. After all, it is the same internet, regardless of your computer. Many students would agree. However, many would also disagree.
While I admit, the majority of my time spent using my PC certainly goes towards using my browser, the majority of work I do -be it at home, school, or my job - is done using programs designed for that particular goal in mind. For example, I write essays, articles, ransom notes and reports in Word, research notes on OneNote, SPSS for statistics. The majority of people with a computer would likely have similar computing practices. While there are some web-based solutions for some of these programs, they not nearly as powerful or user friendly as their software-based counterparts.
So, how we interact with using all these essential software programs depends on what machine and operating system we are using. There are both points of preference, and there are legitimate pros and cons for both of the two computing giants (of OSX and Windows). This is why the debate of operating system primacy still endures to this day! Also, I spent hours and hours Photoshopping the logos on to the heads of those knights, so it only makes sense to have a showdown!
Here is my take on the age old question! The green cells indicate a superior aspect of opting to use either a Mac or Windows product.

Uh oh...looks like a tie...
Middle Ground?
While we can argue 'til the cows come home about what system is better, there is a way to have the best of both worlds!
If you you're in the market for a PC, then replicating the Mac is going to be a little difficult . However, if you get a PC with a strong build, and the right Antivirus, you have won half the battle! If you want the looks of a Mac, this is a little harder. One solution is the Snow Transformation Pack, which makes your PC look like its running Snow Leopard!

If you have a Mac, but lose hours of sleep every night knowing you can't play that new PC-only game that just came out, or your class requires a PC-only program, OR if you just miss the warm embrace of Windows 7, here is an inexpensive solution!
Parallels will help you have the best of both the PC and Mac experience at the same time! Run Windows 7 on your Mac, so you can play your favorite games or the software you need to learn!
Consider peace and harmony restored to the land! '
So, what do you guys think? Mac or PC? Somewhere in the middle? Or is the browser the new king?

And what about dual-boot solutions ?
My favorite method for running both Windows 7 and OSX is Parallels. See the bottom of the post for more info!
However, you raise a good point, dual boot options are another method!
What tools or Software do you know that's available that can do dual boot Win/Mac/Lin?
