Taking a Look at Windows 8!

The newest Windows Operating system from Microsoft has surfaced! The changes that are coming to Windows OS are very impressive!

There is a large emphasis placed on making Windows 8 an optimal tablet experience, as this seems to be the direction that computing is moving, since tablets have grown in popularity last year.
Those who have had an opportunity to take a glance at the new Start Page have already seen how drastic the change is visually.

In Windows 7, the most bold change was the Taskbar (this is also my favourite feature, and I don’t know how I lived without it!)

Windows 8 brings us the new Start Menu with the tile interface from Windows Phone 7. The benefit to this is that there is lots of information displayed on your home screen without having to open any applications or programs, from email and social networking, to stocks and news updates.  When you do run apps, they run beautifully  in full screen. Hidden menus on the side - left and right for Windows and top and bottom for apps – are placed to give you discreet control.
image There are a lot of people panicking over the internet that their classic Windows 7 desktop look has been decimated in the most recent Windows offering. They’re wrong. One of the tiles on the new Start menu takes you to a classic desktop interface. Also, opening a program like Excel will take you to back to the Aero desktop format.

Check out these features and more in the presentation of Windows 8!
NOTE: I recommend you start at around 5:40, where they get right into the features!
