More useful student links

We've found some really cool Websites that we thought you would find useful. The first is a Website called Yapta, which lets you keep an eye on the price of your hotel or flight booking in case the ticket price goes down, where you may be able to receive a refund (or credit) from the airlines or hotel. Another application is Tellme, which is a free local directory service for business listings and gives you access to car repair shops, pizzerias, restaurants, maps, directions and more- which can be very useful when you're on the go! Then there's Dailylit which is a cool application that allows you to read your favorite books by email (on your PC, mobile, etc.). Stay up-to-date on the latest novels, on the bus, train, or on-the- go. This application is very handy so you don't have to cart your novel around all day. The last site is Phonezoo, which allows you to convert your MP3s to custom-length ringtones and forward them to your phone. Plus you can access 1000s of free ringtones from other users.

We hope you find these links useful- enjoy!

Environmental Karma Message

As you head into summer, give some thought about the environmental impact that you are leaving behind you.

A few things to consider as you head into your summer break with your friends and family. If you're heading out with friends, try to carpool; you can save cash on gas, while saving the environment. Remember to turn your computer and any other source of energy that you're not using off. If you use air conditioning, turn it off while you're away at work, open your windows and shut the blinds to let the natural air cool your pad.

If you're going to have a few people over, make sure to recycle the beer cans, wine bottles, etc. (bonus- if you can get money back on bottle return). If you have to use disposable plates, try and use paper, or plastic (only if you can recycle the plastic afterwards) .

Always consider the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle slogan. Try not to buy/ use products with excess packaging and waste. If you’re going out shopping, ask the cashier if they have paper bags, or check to see if their bags are either recyclable or biodegradable. You know what you should be doing to do your part for the environment.

Alright, that’s my environmental message.

As always we love to hear your feedback, comments or suggestions.
