Starting by asking your family members if they have any furniture they could donate to your Broke Student House Furnishing Fund, even old cutlery sets and pots and pans that never get used. You can help them by offering to help clean out the attic or garage to find some of these gems.
Check out the deals on Craigslist- seriously that site can have some amazing finds to deck your place out.
Check out yard sales, you can always bargain with the seller, as they usually just want to get the item out of their place.
Check out your local used furniture store or thrift shops. You can always find the cool retro piece and make it new with a splash of paint or stain.
Lastly- be creative which what you already have.
These are all cost effective and green solutions to furnishing your new place, we hope they help.
If you have ideas, or stories of what you've used as furniture while at school, send them in! We love hearing from you guys.
