UPDATE: I have added another site dedicated to affordable textbooks to the end of this entry, be sure to check them out.
One of the main skills that post-secondary school can teach many students occurs outside of the classroom.
This is of course bargain hunting.
Aside from tuition and beer, one of the highest costs for a college student is their textbooks. A lot of us are often hard pressed for extra cash as it is! Luckily, this does not have to always be the case as there are many sites dedicated to providing items we need at a fraction of the retail price.

We have found some of our favorite book sites for you guys to take a look at:
Abe Books offers a very wide selection of all sorts of books, and they have a n area of their site dedicated to discounted textbooks. I was able to find all of the textbooks for my upcoming year on this site with ease. They have a clean layout with many search options that make finding all the required reading you’re going to (maybe) read this year a breeze to find. You can also sell your used text books back to them.
Textbooks.com guarantees the best prices. They offer their own stock plus a “marketplace” where sellers can distribute their items. This offers a lot of choice for students trying to save money during the year. The store is laid out and simple to use.
Bigwords is a very fun site that definitely deserves a look, even if you are not looking for textbooks in particular. With a funny take on what can sometimes be a dry exercise, they are sure to give you a fun buying experience. Along with textbooks Bigwords also sells DVDs, books, music and games, making them a one stop shop for many discounted items we need.
Bookbyte is another great site for low cost textbooks. Along with a Student Marketplace feature for finding even less expensive books, and intuitive searching, one of the best draws to this site is the Chat function. The staff is very helpful, which allows you to avoid having to browse the site for too long looking for an answer to questions that may come up.
