Office 2010 Technology Guarantee FAQs for Students and Educators

Following our Friday announcement where we confirmed our participation in the Office 2010 Technology Guarantee program, we received some really good questions that we want to share with you:

1) What versions of Office 2007 qualify under the  Office 2010 Technology Guarantee program?
All versions of Microsoft Office 2007 offered through our sites under the Student Select agreement qualify, these include:
  • Office Standard 2007
  • Office Professional 2007
  • Office Enterprise 2007
2)  Does Office 2008 for Mac Qualify under the Office 2010 Technology Guarantee program?
No, Office for Mac 2008 belongs to a different product family. If you purchase Office for Mac 2008, you will not receive a free Upgrade to Office 2010.

3) How do I find out if my school is participating?
Simply, visit our search page and find your school using the search tools. If your school appears in the list, then you'll need to create an account in your school's WebStore and log in before purchasing any products.

4) When will Office 2010 be available and how do I redeem my free upgrade?
Release details have not been made available yet. Please keep checking with us for updates on the availability of Office 2010.

We will  email you instructions on how to redeem your free upgrade to Office 2010. Stay tuned and make sure to add our domains to your list of safe senders "e-academy.com" and "onthehub.com"

5) How many upgrade options will be provided?
As soon as Office 2010 is available, we will provide you with two options to receive your upgrade.
  • Free Download: We will send you instructions on how to redeem your free download ($0)
  • DVD option: We will have a DVD option available but you will have to pay a nominal fee (media + shipping)
6) Where can I get more details about this promotion?
